RAISING OF FUNDS IN SAMOA

APIA, July 29.

A meeting of citizens considered a proposal by the United Progressive Party that funds should be raised in Western Samoa to buy or help to buy an aeroplane as a- gift to the Royal Air Force from Samoa. The initial effort will be to raise £5000 by subscription, but if that sum is not obtained whatever is collected will be given towards the cost of the plane.
