PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that -1- in terms of Section 54 of "The Rating Act 1925," it is the intention of the Hutt County Council at its Ordinary Meeting to be held on FRIDAY, the 16th clay of AUGUST, 1940, at the hour of 2.30 p.m. in the Hutt County Council Offices, Bovven House, Wellington, TO MAKE AND LEVY THE FOLLOWING RATES in respect .to the financial year commenced on April 1, 1940, and ending on March 31, 1941, namely:— GENERAL RATE. A General Rate under Sections 120 and 121 of "The Counties Act, 192a," on the Capital value of all rateable property in each Riding of the County as follows:— 1. EPUNI RIDING.—A General Rate of one penny and ten one-hundredths of one penny in the pound (l-10/100d in the £1). 2. HERETAUNGA RIDING.—A General rate of Ninety one-hundredths of one penny in the pound (90/100d in the £1). 3. HOROKIWI RIDING.—A General rate of One penny and ten one-hundredths of one penny in the pound (l-10/100d in I. MUNGAROA RIDING.—A General Rate .of One penny and fifty one-hun-dredths of one penny on the pound (1-50/ IOOd in the £1). ■ 5 TAUPO RIDING.—A General Rate of One penny and fifty one-hundredths of one penny in the pound (l-50/100d in the £1) 6; WAINUIOMATA RIDING.—A General Rate of One penny and' five one-huu-dredths of one penny in the pound (1-5/ 7. HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID RATE. A rate under the provisions ot Section 52 of "The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926" of one-halfpenny in the pound (%d in the £1) on the Capital Value Of all rateable property in the County of Hutt, such rate being required to meet the contribution payable by the Council to the Wellington Hospital Board. RAUMATI DRAINAGE.RATE A drainage rate under Sections 167 and 173 of "The Counties Act 1920." for the purpose of maintenance of the drains m the Raumati Drainage District, and in tne proportions as follows:— . 1 On all lands classified as "A in the Raumat? A'uniform water rate (under the provisions of SectionJcß2 of the "Municipal Lpr-porations-Act, 1920'^ and amendments, also Order-in-COuncil dated August 27, 1928) on all lands and buildings in the Paekakariki Water Supply No. 2 Area (No. 28 Special Rating District) as follows:— (a) All lands and buildings used %s dwelling "houses to which water is supplied where the rateable annual value does not exceed £12 10s a rate of ten shillings. (b) All lands and buildings used as dwelling houses to which water is supplied where the rateable annual value exceeds £12 10s a rate of one per centum (1 per cent.) on such value. Provided that if such rate produces less than ten shillings in respect to any such land or dwelling house a rate of ten shillings. (c) All lands and buildings (other than dwelling houses) to which water is supplied, and all lands and buildings to which water can be but is not supplied, situate within one hundred yards of any part ot the waterworks, one half of the respective water rates mentioned above. POINT HOWARD WATER RATE ORDINARY SUPPLY-MAINTENANCE. A uniform Water Rate (under the provisions' of Section 82 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920" and amendments, also Order in Council dated August 27, 928) on all lands and buildings in. the Point Howard Water Supply Area (No. 37 Special Rating District) as per Schedule hereuhder: — . A uniform Water Rate (under the provisions of Section 82 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920," and amendments, also Order-in-Council dated August M, 1928) on all lands and buildings m the Paraparaumu Beach Water Supply Area (No 25 Special Rating District) as per YORKBAYWATER RATE ORDINARY SUPPLY-MAINTENANCE. A uniform Water Rate (under the provisions of Section 82 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920" and amendments, also Order in Council dated August 27, 1928) on all lands and buildings m the York Bay Water Supply Area (No. 40 Special Rating District) as per Schedule LOWRY r:BAY WATER RATE ORDINARY SUPPLY-MAINTENANCE. . A uniform water rate (under the provisions of Section 82 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920" and amendments, also Order in Council dated August 27, 1928) on all lands and buildings in the Lowry Bay Water Supply Area (No. 42 Special Rating District) as per Schedule hereunder:- SCHEDULE (a) All lands and buildings used as dwelling houses to which water is supplied where the rateable annual value does not exceed £12 10s a rate of ten shil(b) Ail lands and buildings used as dwelling houses to which water is supplied where the rateable annual, value exceeds £12 10s a rate of three per centum (3 per cent.) on such value. Provided that if such rate pro'duces less than ten shillings in respect to any such land or dwelling house a rate of ten shillings. (c) All lands and buildings (other than dwelling houses) to which water is supplied and all lands and buildings to which water can bo but is not supplied, situate within one hundred yards of any part of the waterworks, one-half of the respective water rates mentioned above. ANNUAL SANITATION CHARGE, PLIMMERTON. A uniform annual sanitation charge under Section 123 (2) of "The Counties Act, 1920" and amendments thereof, of thirty shillings (30s) in respect of each property within the Plimmerton Sanitation Area. AND PUBLIC NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN (a) That all such rates and uniform annual Sanitation Charge as above described for the year commenced on April 1, 1940, and ending on March 31, 1941, will be payable in one sum on Friday, the 13th day of September, 1940, to the Collector of Rates at the Oflice of the Hutt County Council, Bowen House, Wellington, (b) That in terms of Section 64 of "The Rating Act, 1925," there will be allowed to every ratepayer a rebate of five per centum of so much of the amount of the General Rates for the year 1940-41 payable by him as is paid before the expiration" of thirty days after the due date thereof (i.e., September 13, 1940), and (c) That the Valuation Rolls also the Wainuiomata and Raumati Drainage OnssinVnHnn List? are open for inspection during office hours at the aforesaid office.
