SUDDEN DEATH

VICAR OF TAKAPUNA

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, July 28. While resting in his vicarage this afternoon after taking three churcn services, the Rev. Richard Hill Johnson, vicar of Takapuna, died suddenly as the result of a heart attack.

Mr. Johnson had lately been indisposed and had returned about a week ago after recuperating at Rotorua. • He appeared to be in his usual health, and in the morning conducted two services in St. Peter's Church, Takapuna, and one at Campbell's Bay. His brother, the Rev. Harry Johnson, Auckland, was assisting him by taking some of the day's duty, but he had intended to conduct the evening service at Takapuna.
