BROWN SHIELD
TARANAKI CHALLENGE
Taranaki was given permission by the meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Football Association last night to play Wanganui for the Brown Shield, which Taranaki recently won from Manawatu by 7 goals to 1. The game is to be played at Wanganui on a date to be arranged.
Notification was given that the secondary school tournament this year would be held at New Plymouth and the primary school tournament at Napier.
Canterbury's challenge for the F.A. Trophy, at present held by Auckland, was accepted, and will be forwarded to Auckland. It was stated that the game would probably be played in September, after the Chatham Cup final.
The chairman (Mr. Frank Campbell) presided over the meeting, and there were also present Messrs. W. L. Wilson, W. G. Bryce, E/Hollis. W. B. Hicks, B. Martin, J. M. Oilier, H. H. A. Renai, and F. Sanders.
