OTTAWA, July 23,
Major D. H. G. Crerar, Chief of Staff of the Canadian Army, in a speech in which he appealed for recruits, said that Canada would be "the front line trenches in North America in what would be the final single-handed struggle. This continent is against domination by the would-be dictator of the world."'
