The first item, which normally occupies about a sitting day, was disposed of during the first half of the afternoon sitting, and the largest vote passed during the day, £4,025,462 for the Post Office Account, was passed in 17 minutes. The majority of the items were minor ones, the biggest votes apart from the Post Office Account being £2.717.722 for the Labour Department, £1,649,000 for the Department of Agriculture, £357,849 for the Public Trustees' Office, and £286,440 for Justice and Prisons. Although a large number of questions were asked by members no vote met with any signs of opposition. The House rose at 11.25 P.m. „
