OBITUARY

MR. G. C. BARKER

The death occurred yesterday morning of Mr. George Christopher Barker, for many years well known among Wellington, printers and a member of the linotype operating staff of "The Dominion."

Mi\ Barker was employed by the "New Zealand Times" for many years before transferring to "The Dominion." He served as president of the Wellington Typographical Union, and gave long service as a member of its board. He was a prominent supporter of the Poneke Rugby Football Club. 11l health caused his retirement from woi'k about eight months rgo. Mr. Barker, who died at the age of 69 years, was a widower, but leaves two sons and two daughters.
