DISCUSSIONS IN'N.Z.
COMMISSION TO MEET
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 18. Meetings of the Tasman Air Commission and the board of directors of Tasman Empire Airways are to be held in New Zealand in the next few days to discuss aspects of the service. To attend the meetings Captain E. C. Johnston, assistant Director-General of Civil Aviation in Australia, and a member of the Commission, and Mr. A. E. Rudder, representative in Australia and New Zealand of British Overseas Airways Corporation and deputy chairman of Tasman Empire Airways, arrived from Sydney by. the flying-boat Awarua. The Commission which controls the company's operations consist of Captain Johnston, Australian representative, Sir Harry Batterbee, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom in New Zealand, British representative, and Mr. J. G. Young, DirectorGeneral of the Post and Telegraph Department, New Zealand representative. Sir Harry will arrive at Auckland tomorrow to attend the Commission's meeting. ■ Captain Johnston said matters to be discussed included the question of co-ordinating the company's service with that of the Pan-American. The board of Tasman Empire Airways, which also consists of representatives of Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, will meet in Wellington next week. Mr. Rudder, who is one of the British representatives, will remain, in New Zealand till July 29.
