GERMAN CLAIMS

LONDON, July 10
A German communique states that a submarine reports having sunk 35,187 tons of merchant shipping. It is stated that German planes sank a patrol boat and 26,000 tons of merchant shipping off the British coast, ten more merchantmen being seriously damaged or set on fire. Bombs hit oil tanks at air bases at Pembroke and Ipswich and munition works at Norwich, Leeds, Swansea, and Tilbury.
