COMPOSITOR'S CLAIM

After hearing medical evidence, Mr. Justice O'Regan in the Compensation Court yesterday afternoon reserved his decision on a claim by Alistair James MacKay, an apprentice compositor, against the Commercial Printing and Publishing Co. of N.Z., Ltd.

MacKay, for whom Mr. A. B. Sievwright appeared, claimed that in July, 1938, he haJ been injured in the course of his employment by the company, having the second and third fingers of his left hand caught in a printing machine. He was, he said, incapacitated until October, 1938, and would suffer permanent disability of the fingers injured.

The company, for whom Mr. W. P. Shorland appeared, admitted the accident and that MacKay was temporarily incapacitated, but denied his other allegations.
