DBFENCE OF ADEN

SHEIK'S DECLARATION

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, July 6. The Venerable Sheik Kheiruddin Alamuddin, a descendant of the Fatimite Caliphs and head of the Bohra community in Aden, has written to*the Governor saying it is decreed that he is now to witness a second war wherein the bravery of Englishmen will be an example for coming centuries. The Sheik says he has not left Aden and does not intend to leave, because he is confident the Government will protect the people of Aden. "The enemy is being frustrated by the Aden defence," he says. "Blows are being directed against the enemy's own house and a spear fixed in his heart."
