DECISION HOW TO ACT
LONDON, July 7. A message from Alexandria states that conversation^ between the commanders of the Fbrench warships there are still in progress, and it is believed in British circles* that the French will shortly accede to- the British demands. It is understood that the French admiral has been given extended time to make the decision. Cairo reports thj&t Colonel SalisburyJones, who was tfqrmerly the chief liaison officer in Sfyria, said in a broadcast: "Thanks to the bonds of friendship between, the E'ritish and French crews demobilisation of the French fleet at Alexandria has been carried out without difficulty and in a spirit of complete compreiiension." (Received July 8, 9 a.m.) LONDON, July 7. There is no confirmation of the Cairo report that the French fleet has been demobilised.
