TECHNICAL V. HOSPITAL
Hospital, although playing better football, were hard pushed to beat Technical Old Boys pj 5 goals to 3. Rain made the ground very
heavy and the ball hard to control. Hospital's forwards played with great combination considering the state of the ground. Technical played less as a team but their defence showed up well and when play went out to the right wing they were dangerous. . Hospital pressed from the start and good understanding between the Qulrke brothers ended in It. Quirke scoring. From the kick off Technical went right through the Hospital defence for the right-winger Moir to score. For the rest of the spell Technical remained mostly oii the defence, Mehlie and M. Quirke scoring. Just before the call of half-time Technical bustled Hospital and Lambert, in attempting to clear, headed into his own goal. In the second spell the position was reversed, Technical doing most of the attacking. Torrington evened the score with a ground shot that left Wyatt standing. It was not until well on towards the end of the came that Hospital were able to draw ahead, Mehile and Rodgers finding the net. I
