The Queen chatted with Australian and New Zealand troops when she visited a Salvation Army hostel for troops on leave.

The Postmaster-General, Mr. W. S. Morrison, in the House of Commons, said that he was communicating with the Dominion authorities with a view to arranging for Dominion troops to send letters home free of postage.
