REPORTED CESSATION

GERMAN ADVANCE

APOLOGY FOR BOMBING OF BORDEAUX

(Received June 22, 2.20 p.m.)

LONDON, June 21

The French radio announced that the Government is still at Bordeaux.

The Bordeaux correspondent of the Exchange Telegraph Company says that the German advance along the whole front ceased at 5 p.m. on June 20. The High Command formally apologised to the French for yesterday morning's bombardments of Bordeaux,,,pointing out that the belated arrival of the plenipotentiaries resulted in the belief that France was unwilling to:negotiate, and therefore Bordeaux was strafed.
