Racing next week at Otaki, Waipa, and Ashburton on Saturday.

Otaki weights are due on Monday and acceptances on Wednesday. .

The promising Defoe —Malmsey filly in F. A. Roberts's team at Riccarton has been named Lady Derby. Djebel, easy winner of the Two Thousand Guineas and early favourite for the new Derby, was unable to race in the more important classic because war conditions prevented his final training in France.

_Jeay._Roll is the name.that has been claimed for the Croupier—Zarisee filly in T. R. George's team at Master ton. Judgment and Flamberge, 'members of H. Seally's team, suffered minor injuries recently that prevented them racing at Wanganui, but they are doing well again in their work.

Counter Lunch, formerly trained by J. W. Pankhurst, is now in A. ,McMullan's stable at Riccarton. She has raced fairly consistently this season and may later on be a useful open sprinter.

Student Prince and Notium are Hawera horses who will be racing at Otaki next week. Student Prince's lapse of form at Wanganui was due to temporary muscle soreness.

Kilometre, who scored in good style at Wanganui recently, is being kept going with a view to racing at the Wellington Winter Meeting. He is reported to be in excellent condition.

Night Dress, the latest addition to S. Barr's team at Riccarton, is to be put to hurdling, and in this role he is expected to be a payable proposition for his new owner, Mr. W. Parsons. There should also be further flat successes ahead for him around the provincial courses.
