FRENCH PREPARED

STRONG DEFENCES

(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.)

(Received June 13, noon.)

LONDON, June 12

It is reported from Paris that the Italians have brought up heavy forces on the Alpine frontier, but have not yet attacked. They would meet a most effective resistance from the strong line of fortifications barring the way to Nice and all ihe Alpine passes.

The Italians blew up a bridge at Yentimiglia, through which the main railway line linking France and Italy passes. _____^_____^_
