Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Davin, of Southland, who are noiv in England. Mr. Davin went to England from Otago University four years ago on a Rhodes Scholarship. Last year, when he completed his B.A. degree, he married, at Oxford, Miss Winifred Gouley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Gouley, of Otautau. At the outbreak of war they were on holiday in Paris, and immediately returned to Oxford, where Mr. Davin was recommended for a commission in the infantry. It ivas expected that he would obtain his commission last month and that he would be transferred to the New Zealand Forces.
