BOYS LEAVING SCHOOL

LONDON, June 8.

The Ministry of Agriculture has asked boys leaving school to work on the land till they reach military age.

Headmasters are co-operating in a scheme whereby boys are trained for two months by a farmer and-receive free board and 2s 6d a week pocket money. Women are asked to carry on the cultivation of "dig for victory" allotments where men are too busy as a result of. the seven-day week industrial programme.

The order relating to the' restriction of the engagement of "workers made by the Ministry of Labour and National Service to prevent the "poaching" of labour comes ,' into operation on Monday.
