MANAWATU WINTER SHOW

One of the most popular events of the year in the Wellington Province, the Manawatu A. and P. Association s Winter Show, opens at the Showgrounds, Palmerston North, tomorrow. It will continue till Saturday. As usual, a comprehensive programme, catering for all sections of the^ community, has been drawn up. Entries in all classes compare favourably, with previous years, and the quality is sure to be of a high standard. On the entertainment side of the show there will be a wide variety of events. Apart from sideshows, always a popular feature, there will be hunting and riding competitions, Highland dancing, football and hockey matches, and Native concerts. For those with a mechanical turn of mind there will be much of interest in the machinery section. The trade exhibits this year promise to be unusually attractive. The show will be officially opened by the Prime Minister (the Hon. P. Fraser) at 2 p.m. tomorrow.
