DELAY IN OPENING
MR. FRASER'S REPLY TO
PROTEST
The following telegram has been sent by the Prime Minister' (the Hon. P. Fraser) to the Leader of the Opposition (the Hon. Adam Hamilton) in reply to the latter's "emphatic protest against this continued postponement and delay in calling Parliament together":—.* ,
"Have received your telegram and have taken particular. notj.ce of your emphatic protest in reference to the date of the opening of Parliament. The Government are just as emphatically of the opinion that the date fixed is the most suitable one. In the meantime I will be very pleased to discuss } matters relating to New Zealand's j war effort and the present war situaition generally with you at your coni venience. Regards."
