AUCKLAND, This Day.

. At. the 41st. annual meeting, of the Taupifi Coal Mines, Ltd., .Mr: E. W. Allison, who presided ■'for the 4?) th year in succession, said that the year's operations were again' successful. Coal mined totalled 176,616 tons, an increase .over the previous-year of 1974 tons. The directors recommended for the year a dividend of Is 6d per share on ordinary shares. This would absorb £9750, leaving a balance for profit and loss of £5661. In anticipation of an increased demand for coal the directors were opening up another of its coal areas close to the existing mines and it was developing most satisfactorily. Mr.' Allison and Mr. C. I. Nathan . were selected directors.
