TOHEROAS TAKEN OUT OF SEASON.

LEVIN, This Day. . The beach at Waikanae near Levin is famed for its toheroas, but. so. wanton has been the gathering of toem that regulations were gazetted stipulating that only full-sized ones could be taken, that the implement used must not exceed four inches in widtn, and that .fhere.be a closed. season. A Buhnyfhorpe woman was charged at the Levin Police Court, before Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M., this week with infringing all these regulations, and her husband was charged with . ob> structing the ranger and the pol£« in the execution, of their duty;-The husband was convicted and fined ±.4 10s and the wife £2 10s,for taking toheroas in the closed season and £1 for taking undersized ones.
When he was struck by a car al tha corner of Richmond and Jackson Streets, Petone. Mr. W. Lepper, carpenter, of 73 Sydney Street. Petone, suffered injuries to his nose, concussion, and shock. The Free Ambulanc* took him to hospital.
