COAL SUPPLIES

NO SHORTAGE IN SOUTH

(By Telegraph.) (Special to the "Evening Post.")

DUNEDIN, This Day,

Whatever the position may be m the North Island, in Dunedin there is no shortage of coal at present, nor in the normal course of events is there any shortage threatened. The winter demand will be met without any trouble. The demand for West Coast coals is never great in Dunedin, and even if users were forced to transfer their demand to Otago-produced coals that additional strain should not affect the general position adversely. It is expected that a satisfactory arrangement will be arrived at in the dispute between miners and owners regarding wages and hours.
