MR. STEWART ELECTED
The by-election to fill the east ward seat on the Upper Hutt Borough Council, left vacant by the death of Mr, W. Greig, was held yesterday, and the Labour candidate, Mr. W. A. Stewart, was returned by a majority of 76 votes. \ Well over 50 per cent, of the ■ electorate voted, and only four informal votes were cast. The official figures areas follows: —
