RECORD MEMBERSHIP
QUEEN MARGARET COLLEGE PARENTS' ASSOCIATION
At the annual meeting of the Queen Margaret College Parents' Association, Mr. O. C. Mazengarb presided over a representative number of parents and friends. The annual report showed a record membership of 171. Several successful social functions had been held, including a debutantes' ball and a garden fete. An endeavour had been made to raise a special fund for the twenty-first birthday of the college and an amount of over £100 had been realised.
Mr. . Mazengarb welcomed the principal of the college, Miss Irene Wilson, and her staff, and paid a tribute to the outstanding service rendered by them to the college. He presented Miss Wilson with a basket of flowers and fruit and also bouquets to the Misses Vyner, Clachan, and Hoby, who had returned from Europe.
In responding, Miss Wilson gave a characteristic talk to parents, especially fathers, pointing out the essential part they played in the life of their daughters, and appealing for their cooperation.
The following officers were elected: — President, Mr. O. C. Mazengarb; vicepresident, Mrs. J. S. Martin; secretary, Mr. G. M. Pottinger; committee, Mesdames • Blake,ley, Booth, Duncan, Eichlebaum, Gapes, Green, Haughton, Luke, Magee, Lattey, Madden, Mazengarb, Mantell-Harding, Miller, MacAlister, Monro, Radford, Rhind; Sapsford, Young; representative on board of governoi-s, Mr. K. E. Luke and Mrs. J. S. Martin.
Songs were sung by Mrs. Spidy, accompanied by Miss Spidy. An item was given by an instrumental trio comprising Miss Hirst and Messrs. Booth and Davis, and Mrs. W. P. Rollings recited.
