RECORD MEMBERSHIP

QUEEN MARGARET COLLEGE PARENTS' ASSOCIATION

At the annual meeting of the Queen Margaret College Parents' Association, Mr. O. C. Mazengarb presided over a representative number of parents and friends. The annual report showed a record membership of 171. Several successful social functions had been held, including a debutantes' ball and a garden fete. An endeavour had been made to raise a special fund for the twenty-first birthday of the college and an amount of over £100 had been realised.

Mr. . Mazengarb welcomed the principal of the college, Miss Irene Wilson, and her staff, and paid a tribute to the outstanding service rendered by them to the college. He presented Miss Wilson with a basket of flowers and fruit and also bouquets to the Misses Vyner, Clachan, and Hoby, who had returned from Europe.

In responding, Miss Wilson gave a characteristic talk to parents, especially fathers, pointing out the essential part they played in the life of their daughters, and appealing for their cooperation.

Pottinger; committee, Mesdames • Blake, ley, Booth, Duncan, Eichlebaum, Gapes, Green, Haughton, Luke, Magee, Lattey, Madden, Mazengarb, Mantell-Harding, Miller, MacAlister, Monro, Radford, Rhind; Sapsford, Young; representative on board of governoi-s, Mr. K. E. Luke and Mrs. J. S. Martin.
