BANNING OF PINEAPPLES

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—May I trespass upon your valuable space to enter a protest against the I continued ' banning of pineapples into New Zealand? This is not a war measure and while I, as a loyal New Zealander, am prepared to make any sacrifice in my power that may help the country in these times of stress, I fail to see what benefit is gained by depriving us of that very necessary article of diet, the pineapple. No other fruit can take its place. In cases of sickness and many serious diseases it is of untold benefit. Its juice is a wonderful solvent, and I personally can .testify to restored health from its use; To deprive, us. of this healthgiving fruit is to deprive us of one.of Nature's most-; valuable gifts to^^mankind.—l am, etc.; . . : FRUIT DIET.
