GROUNDS FOR WINTER SPORTS
Grounds for winter sports have been allocated by ■ the reserves committee of the City Council as follows, approval being given the recommendation by the council last night:— Wellington Rugby Union, 26 grounds; Wellington Football Association, 9 grounds; Wellington Mens' Hockey Association, 9 grounds; Wellington Ladies' Hockey Association, 6 grounds. The Football Association is to be granted the use of the Basin Reserve for the season on the usual conditions, subject to a cash payment of £100, the council to collect 15 per cent, of the gross gate and stand takings, and the Wellington Rugby League is to be granted the use of Newtown Park for the season on the usual terms and conditions. .
Additional street lights are to be erected in Ranui Crescent, Rhine Street, Cashmere Avenue, and Homebush Road,
