EMPIRE ARMIES
CO-ORDINATION IN THE NEAR EAST
THE BRITISH CAUSE
UNITY OF INHABITANTS
(By Telegraph— Press Association. —Copyright.) (Received March 29, 11.20 a.m.) CAIRO, March 28. Increasing numbers, of young British yeomanry are arriving in Palestine. - ■ Combined manoeuvres of the Aus- .'■ tralian, New Zealand, British, ... Egyptian, and Indian armies began yesterday, marking acceleration of the co-ordination of the Allied forces ■ [in the Near East. On the Trans-, Jordan frontier troops are combining in exercises with the Emir Abdullah's Arab Legion, which is being ex- ' tended over the whole of the Trans- ,/ Jordan to give the one-time fierce i desert raiders their first experience . of co-operation with Britishers. . : Voluntary recruiting of Palestine Jews is steadily increasing. The Avhole-hearted support of the , inhabitants of the Near East_ for the British cause is a striking example of unity, compared with the f hesitancy which was evident at the . beginning of the last war.
