(Received March 18,,2.20 p.m.)
LONDON, March 17.
French guns along the Swiss end of the Maginot Line had their first practice for some time today. Earlier in the day. the Germans erected huge placards which could be plainly seen across the Enine, with "Do not sacrifice yourself for the English" written in French. The French guns opened fire on them, and soon not a single sign remained standing.
