VOGELMORN CLUB

The championship events of the Vogelmorn Municipal Tennis Club were completed on Saturday, when the concluding matches in tlie men's doubles and the mixed doubles were played. In the semi-finals, of the men's doubles, A. Oakley and K. Lawrence beat H. A. Cragg and A. S. Cornish, 9-7, and O. K. Humphries and R. Clarke defeated K. Bennett and G. A. Weir, 9-1. Humphries and Clarke won the final from Oakley and Lawrence, 6-3, C-3.

!In one semi-final of the mixed doubles, H. A. Cragg and Airs. G. H. Weir defeated G. A. Weir and Miss G. M.< Newton. 9-4, and. in the other It. Clarke and Miss M. A. Weir beat 0. K. Humphries and Miss Jean Weir, 9-7. . The final was won by Cragg and Mrs. Weir, who defeated Clarke and Miss Mary Weir, 6-2, 6-4. Some keen matches are taking place in connection with the club ladders. On the' men's ladder, the only change affecting the first four positions has been that G. A. Weir displaced W. G. Pickering at fourth, the four leaders now being K. P. Martell, R. Clarke, O. K. Humphries, and G. A. Weir. Miss E. B. Bethell recently deposed Mrs. Weir from top position on the women's ladder, and has since withstood a challenge from Miss Jean Weir, the three leading players now being Miss E. B. Bethell, Miss Mary. Weir, and Miss Jean Weir The club is well represented in the entries for the Wellington Lawn Tennis League's championships. __^_^^^^^_^____
