RELATED TO VAGABOND

Student Prince, who secured a surpi'ise win in the Rimu Highweight on the opening day at Trentham on Thursday, has done most of his recent racing over hurdles, and on. this showing, combined with* the useful form he has evinced as a jumper, he might be in line for an important hurdles win during the winter. In all his racing Student Prince has carried the colours of his trainer, J. Brown', of Hawera. He won a number of races on the fiat, some of them over a bit of ground, but he was turned to jumping, as he was not quite good enough for open class after running put of hacks. Now six years old, he is a son of Laughing Prince and the Leighton—Kinsem mare Happy Hit, ai half-sister ..to Senegal, and the line has! had previous success with its jumpers, j as Vagabond (after winning the New Zealand Cup) and Avro were both good hurdlers.
