TWO SPORTSMEN
LEAVING HUTT VALLEY
The well-known Hutt senior cricketer J. E. Capstickj who is also a Hutt Valley representative table tennis player, "and J. J. Halligan, Hutt Valley cricket and table tennis representative, were the* guests of honour at a farewell gathering of sportsmen in Petorie. Mr. Capistick is leaving! iiv the hear future for Auckland and Mr. Haliigan'• is sailing with the Second Echelon.
Mr. {Tom McPhee, president of the Empire Table Tennis Club, who presented Messrs. Haliigan and Capstick each with a memento from those present, referred to their many good qualities.and wished them the best of luck. ■Other speakers were Messrs. W. Mullins (Hutt Valley Table Tennis Association), J. Ell, (Wellington Cricket Club), J. May (Hutt Valley Cricket Association), Ray Wright (Hutt District. Cricket Club), and A. Harding, (Empire Table Tennis and Cricket Clubs, who convened the farewell function). -
Messrs. Capstick and Haliigan suitably replied. '
