RACE WEEK EVENT
QUEEN PAGEANT BALL
The scarlet uniforms of London's Guards, and the spectacular outfits of the Beefeaters of the Tower of London will appear again tomorrow night at the Exhibition Cabaret when the Plunket Society will present its Queen Pageant ball. Much interest will surround the actual crowning ceremony, which will be performed at 9.30 by her Excellency Viscountess Galway. The four queens will each be attended by four ladies-in-waiting and six pages will precede them to their position in front of th£ stage. The winning queen will be crowned with a replica of the Crown jewels, lent by Mr. Max Berman, and will wear a handsome Court train of royal scarlet.
Music for dancing will be supplied by Mr. Manuel Raymond and his orchestra, an added attraction especially for those visitors to Wellington who have not already visited the cabaret. Tables may be reserved at the D.I.C. and tickets obtained from the D.1.C.. and the secretary, Miss Kathleen Hayes, at the Plunket rooms. One thousand guests are expected.
