THE NAME CETEWAYO

There has already been some confusion concerning the pronunciation of Cetewayo, and as this two-year-old might turn out one of the champions of the year it might be as well to clear the doubt.

The preferable pronunciation is the phonetic, which is more simply set-ee-way-o, with the stress on the third syllable. There is also an alternative pronunciation, which might be indicated as kech-wi-o. with the stress on the second syllable. The public will undoubtedly choose the former. Cetewayo, for those who do not already know, was a famous Zulu chief.
