Thousands of people today witnessed the funeral procession of Archbishop Kelly, who was Roman Catholic Archbishop of Sydney, round Hyde Park and back to the' cathedral, where the casket was laid to rest in a marble tomb of the archbishop's own design. The cathedral had been draped in black and purple.
