TRANSIT BY RAIL
AGREEMENT SIGNED

Italy and Germany have reached an agreement for the shipment of coal to Italy by railway, using three, possibly four, of the Alpine passes. Both Italian and German trucks will be used for the transport of coal from Poland, the Ruhr, and Westphalia, j The agreement will enable Italy's requirements to be covered almost completely. j The negotiations were started by Herr yon Ribbentrop and concluded by Dr. Clodius. '
