PALMERSTON MARKETS.
The Dominion Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report a small entry of pigs at their usual weekly sale held on Thursday, a total clearance being made. A large entry of poultry came forward, a slight increase in price being noted. Fruit and produce was in the usual supply, as follows:—
Pigs.—Best weaners 10s to 14s 6d each, small 5s to Bs, slips 18s to 245, stores 30s to 32s 6d, 365, porkers £2 15s to £2 16s. Poultry: Best W.L. hens 4s fo 4s 6d.per pair, heavy hen 5s to 6s per pair, laying hens 3s to 4s each, forward "pullets. 7s 6d to 9s 6d each, small to backward 4s to 5s 8d each, heavy cockerels 6s to 7s per pair, small 2s 6d to 3s per pair, young ducks 8s to 9s per pair, old ducks 4s to.6s per pair, geese 4s 6d to 4s 9d each. Produce: Peaches, dessert 5s to 8s per case, cooking 4s to 5s 6d per case, plums 4s 6d to 6s 6d per case, nectarines 8s to 11s, apricots 7s 6d to 12s, grapes H.H. lid to Is Id per lb, tomatoes Hutt 2s 6d to 3s 6d per case, local J's Is to 2s per case, quinces 8s to 9s par case, cabbages Savoy 4s to 6s 6d per sack, D.H. 2s, to 4s per sack, cauliflowers 5s to 8s 6d per sack, lettuce 3s to 10s 6d per case, peas Id to s£d per lb, beans Id to 3Jd per.lb., cucumbers 2s to 4s per case, pumpkins 7s to 9s per sack, marrows 2s to :3s per case, carrots 3s to 4s 6d per sugar bag, parsnips 5s to 6s 6d per case, beetroot 4s to 6s 6d per case, spinach 3s to 7s per case, kumeras 12s to 14s per sugar bag, onions 5s to 5s 6d per.bag, potatoes 4s 6d to 6s per cwt.
