PUBLIC NOTICE. NOTICE TO RETAIL BUTCHERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. MEAT SUPPLIES. BY arrangement with the Amalgamated Society of Shop Assistants (Butchers' Section) and the Wellington Master Butchers' Association, it has been agreed that the Operative Butchers' Picnic Day shall be held on Easter Saturday, March 23, 1940. Under Clause 14 (c) of the Wellington Industrial District Butchers' Award, all butchers' shops, including pork butchers' shops, in Wellington City and Suburbs,, Petone and the Hutt Valley, Eastbourne, Johnsonville, and Porirua Districts must be closed from the hour of 7 a.m. and for the remainder of the day on Saturday, March 23, 1940.
