REPORTED PLAN TO JOIN

CONVOY

RIO DE JANEIRO, February 10,

The German freighters Uruguay, at Pernambuco, and Wakama, at Rio de Janeiro, are believed to be preparing to sail today to join a convoy in midAtlantic with the other German vessels that recently left South American ports.

(Received February 12, 2 p.m.) RECIFE (Brazil), February 11. The freighter Uruguay sailed with a cargo of foodstuffs.

TEN PEOPLE KILLED

NAPLES, February 11,

An Italian airliner crashed and caught fire in the Calabrian hills. Four members of the crew and six passengers were killed.
