GENERAL WEYGAND LEAVES

LONDON, Sunday Night,
General Weygand, commander of the French forces in the Near East, left Cairo today by air for Beirut. He has been in Egypt for the past three days inspecting the defences and troops in company with the British and Egyptian military chiefs.
