AUCKLAND CHEQUES
Wool growers throughout the Auckland Province will share in the distribution of over £361,000 today, which is prompt date for the third appraisal in Auckland of wool under the B-'idsh Gdvernment's wartime purchase. The apprafsal comprised 21,200 bales. Further supplies of wool are still coming in to the stores, although the rate has slackened somewhat" Tentative dates have been fixed for two -more appraisals before t> end of the season.
With the present cheque the total distribution in Auckland this season wiU be £1,063,000. This is slightly above the figure for the whole of the 1938-39 season, when £1,061,743 was distributed. With other appraisals still to be held, it is estimated that the total cheque will bear comparison with the record realisation of £1,528,545 in 1936-37.
