Ten started. Logan Derby made a brilliant sprint through the field under tho whip and won a hard-driven race by three yards, with twelve yards between second and third. Supertax was never prominent. Time, 3mtn 16sec. The winner did the mile at a rate of 2min 9sec. breaking the State record by !%sec. The crowd gave the winner an ovation,
