To cap a season brimful of interest, the New Zealand amateur track cycling championships for 1939-40 are to be decided this week, commencing at 6.30 p.m. on Friday, at the Petone Oval. The title events are 1000 metres time trial, 500 metres sprint, and 10-mile human-paced for seniors, and the juniors are catered tor with half-mile and five-mile races, In addition to the national title events, mwy open handicaps will be held, and on Saturday afternoon several athletic races, which, with the district's best performers participating. will lend variety to the programme.
