A distinguished company, which included the Duke of Kent, met officers of the overseas Empire forces at the Mansion House when the Lord Mayor, at a luncheon for the officers, welcomed "men who have come thousands ol miles at a great sacrifice to join th« common cause."

The Lord Mayor added that ti9 gathering at the Mansion House could have greater significance.
