SOUTHERN SMILE BACK
Some time' ago ■it was. decided <t» retire.Southern Smile to the matrons* paddock, but visits- to Logan- Derby in. 1938 and more recently to IT.' Scott failed to bring results, and' it has beea decided to place this marc back in training. It is now almost 18 months since Southern Smile was seen in action and during her absence she has lost all racing condition. She has been doing' light work for some little time now, but she is still very backward in this respect. At her' best" she was cabable of running out a useful two-mile journey, but sprinting'has always been her forte and it 'is possible that she will again be found paying, her wayin this department.
