PARTY FOR TENNIS PLAYERS
The directors' room at the Exhibition was decorated with masses of flowers last evening when the Australian tennis players and the officials controlling the Centennial teninfs championships were entertained by the directors. Mr. Frank Campbell, chairman of the Exhibition Sports Committee, and Mrs Campbell, welcomed the guests, who included the chairman of directors, Mr. Hislbp, the Australian Trade Commissioner, Mr. C. E. Critchley, and Mrs. Critchley, the Commissioner-Gene-ral for the United Kingdom Pavilion, Mr G. H. Meadmore, the deputy chairman of directors, Mr. Charles Todd, the secretary and assistant manager, Mr. H. E. Avery, Mr. and Mrs. J H. Crawford, Misses- M. Hardcastle, T Coyne, and N. Wynne (Australia), Messrs. A. G. Henderson, president of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, C. G. White, president of the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association, and Mrs. White, and many tennis officials representing various parts of the Dominion. Both Mr. Campbell and Mr. Todd expressed appreciation of the presence of the guests and said that it was a pleasure to entertain Australian friends. Mr. Critchley replied on behalf of- the Australian players, and Mr. Henderson spoke on behalf of the New Zealand Tennis Association. .
The players were later taken through the Waitomo Caves and around Playland.
