SURF LIFE-SAVING
LOCAL TEAMS COMPETE
The last Wellington surf life-saving contests to be held prior to the New , Zealand surf life-saving championships, which commence at Lyall Bay on February 16, were competed for at Paekakariki recently. There was a strong westerly wind and a heavy broken surf, and as no boat could go out to place the buoys, no time test could be taken. Patients and beltmen swam out together until recalled. The high tide also gave trouble to teams on the beach. Results are as follows:—
