NOW AT TRENTHAM
KENTUCKY AND BUCCANEER
(By Telegraph.) (Special to the "Evening Post.")
TAKANINI, This Day.
Mr. M. J. Moodabe's two representatives, Kentucky and Buccaneer, were railed to Trentham last night, and they are going into H. B. Lorigan's stable. Formerly trained by E. Pope at Takanini, Kentucky ranks as one of the unlucky two-year-olds of the season, navmg earned £430 in minor place-money without a win. A tall colt, he is one who might reasonably be expected to develop into a better performer' next term. Buccaneer has so far failed to fulfil expectations, and: his solitary, success was achieved inA!a ."moderate field at Whangarei :in . November. .He has shown speed: in his races, and, being a well-bred three-year-old, he may be placed more advantageously .in the south, where the grade does not appear to be quite as strong .as that racing at present in the Auckland province.
