SCOTS FUNCTION.
A night with Burns, to take the form of a concert and dinuer, will be held by the combined Scots societies of Wellington and Hutt Valley on January 25 in the Masonic Hall. The Ter^ race. The toast to the "Immortal Memory of Robert Burns" will be given by Mr. A. J. Sinclair,'of Te Awamutu. A first-class musical programme, in which ' community songs will play a part, has been arranged. The haggis will be piped in with honours. There will be more than one on this historic 6ccasion, the Centennial of the Dominion,- in the foundation of which the Scots, played a leading ;part. Accommodation is limited to the seating available for the dinner, and the issue of tickets, which may be obtained from J. R. Baird, 282 Lambton Quay/ and Mr. D. Stratmore, 19 Tory Street, has been limited accordingly. Club members are advfsed to get in touch with their secretaries, as no further reservations are possible. A special request is made for a display of tartan by the ladies, and for the men who have kuts to wear them.
